Resilience – (a) definition

Increasing Resilience is a key objective to remain and grow in our VUCA world.

A new model was developed to assess organizational resilience and an interactive format to define steps according to your context to incresase it.

Cornerstones of this method will be shared here in steps.

Here I want to distinguish between psychological resilience and organizational resilience.

(A) Definition

The word is described widely as the capability to withstand a trauma or crisis. I like to use the term “Liveliness” very much.

Psychological resilience

“Psychological resilience is the ability to mentally or emotionally cope with a crisis or to return to pre-crisis status quickly.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_resilience#cite_note-1

I will here not look further into this and recommend to deepen your understanding with brilliant knowledge offered by competent psychologists, wikipedia and many articles as well as books.

Organizational resilience

…the ability of a company to anticipate, survive and grow even in a complex and dynamic environment

This is a definition in the German Wikipedia which deviates from psychological resilience. It is meaningful and helps to gain a basic understanding. For easy access it was translated here.

Workshop to explore and increase organizational resilience

Based on intensive research and practical experience I have developed (and continuously refine) a workshop to explore and increase organizational resilience within organizations.

This workshop’s format is fitting for remote as well as co-located. Feel free to reach out to Emergent Organizations.
